# People and roles

> Who can do what in a collective, a space and a group.

The roles people hold in a collective, the access levels in a space, and how your track shapes your profiles.

**Collective roles**

| Role | What they can do |
| - | - |
| Organizer | Runs the collective: settings, features, members and every space in it |
| Moderator | Triages the collective's inbox and keeps conversations healthy |
| Member | Takes part: joins spaces, books, requests and shares |
| Guest | A lighter membership. What guests can do is still being decided |

**Space access levels**

| Level | What it allows |
| - | - |
| Owner | Owns the space |
| Full access | Everything, including changing everyone's access |
| Can manage | Contracts, members, invites and orders nobody has accepted yet |
| Can create | Adds notes, files, journeys and other new work |
| Can contribute | Comments on and edits existing work |
| Can subscribe | Follows along, read only |

**Other roles**

| Role | Where | What it means |

| Lead | Groups | Runs the group: edits it, invites and approves people |
| Host | Experiences and events | Runs the experience or event |
| Co-host | Meetups | Helps the host run a meetup |
| Speaker | Experiences | Speaks at the experience |
| Mentor | Experiences | Mentors the people in a program |
| Participant | Programs | Holds a pass to a program and works in its space |
